I loved that slide! I remember sliding down that thing several times. I too, have searched for pictures of it and have never found a single one.
When K-Mart first opened they did have security. But, it was a far cry from security of current times. Their idea of security was an (old man) looking back he was probably early 60's, but being a pre-teen at that time, that was really old to me.
We all had nicknamed this man "rug head" back then because of his really bad toupee. As the famous commercial says...the only thing missing from this pile of synthetic hair was a chin strap.
He would be hot on the trail of anyone under the age of 30. I remember him pretending to be shopping, ducking and weaving between isles and racks of clothes to keep a watchful eye on everyone.
