Now I know those bleeding hearts will say, "yeah opi but he was raised in the ghetto and didn't have the advantages this white woman did". I say, he's an animal. JMO I didn't say anything about where he was raised. I just fail to see one thing, and the pro-death(penalty) camp has not convinced me of one thing.. What GOOD is done by the death penalty? Does it help the victim? Does it help the survivors? Only close to reasonable response I have ever been given was "It's the satisfaction that we're 100% sure this person will never come out to do it again." For the ones who have actually received it, it sure hasn't sent it's intended message nor has it stopped people from committing murder. Missouri is one of the most murderous states out there, I'd say third or fourth behind Texas, which leads the killer states by far. Missouri doesn't shy away from the death penalty, but has it really had any effect? Guess where the murder rate per capita leads and who has received the dubious honor of the Most Dangerous City in the USA again? Yup, Camden, Flint, and Detroit got beat out. Surely with all those death penalties, those thugs on the streets would be scared out of their wits end. Not happening. More proof there is no good reason why the death penalty can be applied. It does nothing for the victim, and it does nothing to stop the perps. It may do a little for the survivors, but honestly, it's little consolation. Now some people believe this system of revenge is just. I just simply do not agree. Revenge is just that, revenge. I do not believe that the death penalty serves justice. It is of no benefit to society and even costs society more. I am glad that it's on its way out in Illinois and will be glad when more states follow suit.
