I know many of cops, and although there may be any number of reasons for following someone, most cases are they're heading somewhere & is not following you. Any time they pull someone over, they have to take their ID to verify who they are & to run a check on them to make sure they have no warrants or anything, as that is a very good way to catch people with warrants. Regardless how much of an inconvenience it may be, they're just doing the job they're hired to do & I praise any officer doing their job. As long as you're legal & not breaking laws, you have nothing to worry about it.
