    Trustee Annoucement Archived Message

Ok, for those of you who do not know my name, other than operator, my name is Ronnie Burton and I've decided to enter the Political arena here in Pontoon Beach. I've decided to run for Trustee of the Village in the next election which will be in April, 2011. After consulting with my loving wife of 42 years, ensuring that I have her support, I've made this decision.
I will be attempting to get all the necessary forms collected and filled out properly in a short order of time. The staff at the Village Hall has been friendly and courteous, as well as the county clerk's office. However it does seem that a newcomer has to either consult a lawyer or take a chance of not correctly filling out the forms. I will be attempting to do so myself, with some help from a couple of friends who have volunteered to help somewhat.
I will be running as an independent, with no ties to either of the past or current ruling parties here in Pontoon, I do not consider myself neither a Democrat nor a Republican as for years I've voted a split ticket, sometimes for the right person and I admit now sometimes for the wrong person.
While I believe I would be able to get enough required signatures on my petitions here in my sub-division of Emerald Meadows, I'd much rather acquire signatures from all areas of Pontoon, as I feel I will be representing all residents of Pontoon and not just a chosen few. On that note, if there are any registered voters here in Pontoon who would be interested in signing my petition, please send me a private message on how to contact you, and as soon as I can get the forms filled out, I'll contact you and come by for you to sign my petition to run as a trustee here in Pontoon. I will need all of your support and votes, if I am to be successful and allowed to represent the residents here.
I don't claim to have all the answers or hidden agendas as it will be a learning curve for me, but I will give you my word that I will work hard to the best of my ability.
If I have ever offended anyone on this site, with a previous post, please to do not take it seriously, as it was not intended personally.
Thank You, Ronnie Burton AKA operator
