Update on Robert Hutchinson Archived Message

Posted by Kimberli Green on November 18, 2010, 9:17 am

Last year about this time I was posting information about a benefit for disabled veteran Robert Hutchinson. The benefit was to help cover medical costs to cover his amputation and with living expenses due to delay of his disability compensation claim by the Department of Veterans' Affairs. As of today, and after nearly 8 years of waiting, Robert has still not received a decision! On July 21, 2010 he submitted a formal request for assistance from Congressman Jerry Costello. As of today he has received no assistance. I understand Mr. Costello's political campaign was one of his highest priorities during this time, however I would like to push this to the forefront of his to-do list now that he has been re-elected.

I have created a petition and ask that members of the 12th Congressional District, or any concerned citizen, sign the petition if you agree with its contents. You can view and sign it at the link below:

If you are a veteran who has had trouble with disability compensation claims, especially with the Chicago regional office, please post your story on our Facebook page at:

You can also read Bobby's story on the Facebook page.

If you are a civilian and are unaware of the way our country's veterans are treated, visit some of these sites:

    Or Google VA Corruption.

Robert and I appreciate all of the support the community has shown previously, and hope that we can all join together to get ALL veterans the benefits they deserve.

If you have any questions or wish to tell your story privately, please contact me at kgreen1971@yahoo.com.

    Thanks!!!!
