The 15th Annual Santa’s Holiday Parade will be held this Saturday, November 20th at 1:00 p.m. in Granite City.
There are over 100 entries in this year’s parade and is sure to be the Christmas event that no one should miss.
It will feature Fredbird of the St. Louis Cardinals, Louie of the St. Louis Blues and Izzy the Grizzly of the Gateway Grizzlies.
The floats should be something to see.
Float Contest prizes are 1st Place $300, 2nd Place $200 and 3rd Place $100. But of course bragging rights will be the greatest prize of all.
Following the parade at the Wilson Park Pavilion by Niedringhaus School at 29th Street and State Street, will be the Santa’s Holiday Avenue Chili Cook-Off.
There are more competitors this year than ever before. Approximately 20 entries have been received thus far. Prizes are 1st $250, 2nd $175, and 3rd $100. Chili will be sold once the Judging is complete for 50¢ a bowl.
There will also be Free face painting, Balloon Making, Pony Rides, Cotton Candy, Popcorn, and Live Music.
The Santa House will open this year on Thursday, December 2, 2010 and will be open on Thursdays 5-8 pm, Fridays 5-8 pm Saturday and Sundays from 1-4 and 5-8 pm. It will also be open on December 20-23 from 5-8 p.m. It is located in Bellmore Village Shopping Center in front of Glik’s Department Store. Have your child’s picture taken with Santa Claus for only $6.00
