They misuse what God gave them, but it's right to call me out to think that God is actively punishing us.

Nope, we're just misusing (as a nation) what God (or nature) gave us. The faculties of logic and reason have been misused and allowed to be manipulated by the rantings of a carnival barker. It would be funny, if we weren't stuck with the consequences of those rantings.

At the moment, the crashing of the economy is the latest consequence.
