I think Opie, like me. is from "old school" before computers came on the scene.
Much of what was done by hand in the office is no longer necessary. Back in the day filing was done in a cabinet drawer, communication was in person or by physical memo etc,
With the technology we have available today much of that same work can be done from any location and shared. Meetings can be held on line and include as many people as needed.
It is often cost effective for employees to work from home because it saves the need for office space, office equipment etc.
I know many people who work from home and they all are hard workers.
My disabled neighbor is able to hold a job from home as she is unable to drive. She puts in way more then 40 hours per week.
I do agree that some workers need supervision, and those people should be required to be at the workplace.
