The gay, trans, and drag-queen cultures are sub-cultures. A lot of people believe they are sub-cultures comprised to some significant degree of people with untreated psychological trauma which manifests as peculiar some might say perverse sexual fetishes. I'm not sure I would go that far, but I don't want that culture anywhere near gullible young children. Many parents want to insulate their children from things that might be dangerous. Those parents are not irrational for feeling that way.
