Ivan Provorov's jerseys were sold out online after the media condemned him for not wearing a Pride-themed jersey in the pre-games warm-ups.

I didn't see any reason to take the pride-themed pre-game jerseys up with management, I simply bought a Provorov jersey online. They weren't forcing me to wear the damn thing, they were forcing the players. I don't even like the Flyers, but I had to have that jersey.

These groups put pressure on the various professional leagues and too often the leagues cave. This time since there was such a push back the NHL said screw it, we don't want to be in the middle of this in any way shape, or form.

I'm not thrilled about the whole thing but had the league not tried to strong-arm the players into wearing these jerseys and it had been on a volunteer basis, that would have been more acceptable. But to the activists that position is never quite good enough, their approach was you will wear it and like it. A handful of players said I don't think so and others less brave were glad about their stance even though they wore the damn thing themself. Imagine some of the players just wanting to play hockey and not shill for the trans community. What's next, will you be electing Donald Trump to be President??
