Also, aren't all the guys in the plant going to work for IL American like they did when Alton sold their plant? If so, they may make more than they made here and can contribute to a 401 K like most of us had to do for retirement.
Do we know how many people work at the plant? I would hope the savings to the city in salaries, benefits, etc would be a good revenue stream for the city if there are enough workers.
They need to see if their city pension can roll over to a 401 k. The Illinois pension funds can't sustain forever and will someday be a thing of the past as government pushes individual plans
