Until your political career (or deep-seated personality disorder) compels you to rise the ranks and get to state level or national politics, I really don’t care how the dog catcher, backup comptroller, county jester, etc. identifies party-wise.

How one comports themselves, say, on a golf course or in a bar room is a greater indicator of their fitness for duty than affiliation for these roles.

You can learn a lot a person in those settings.

Once you encounter the actual personality, not the talking points or platitudes - then you see what you are or are not voting for.
