When this younger generation of new suits decided to rebrand the credit union, they decided to distance themselves and basically cut the ties of the past to the steel mill. And now they have new branches that have popped up in Alton, Edwardsville, Collinsville, Fairmont City and O'Fallon, Illinois. We all know the location in Pontoon Beach is on borrowed time as it has been closed more than it's been open out of the last 2 years now.
To say they have forgotten their roots would be an understatement, they have not only forgotten them, but they have also hacked them to tiny forgettable pieces with an ax and tried to rip them from the ground. It's only a matter of time before these new young decision makers pull out of the Granite City location and make their new headquarters up the hill, where the air is a little less polluted and more to their liking.
What happened to the days of dressing for success, holding yourself to some level of professionalism in clothing and conduct, especially when representing a once respected and appreciated long standing pillar of the community? Yes, that is exactly how many felt about the "Granite City Steel" credit union.
When I and my family and friends and neighbors see our banking establishment, the now Revity credit union make a very public and political statement by taking part in the Alton's Pride Festival by setting up a Revity Credit Union booth handing out branded tote bags and Pride flags, all dressed alike in matching Revity Credit Union PRIDE t-shirts it felt like an insulting slap to the faces of generations of people. The same generations of people that these pride fest attendees never even gave a moment's thought about. Generations of grandfathers, and great grandfathers who indirectly paid the price for these PRIDE Revity Credit Union T-shirts with their blood, sweat and tears and sacrifices.
The leadership of this banking institution is obviously making a very public declaration about it's political stance by taking part in this very controversial celebration, I'm not sure if this is a relationship I want to remain a part of.
Political beliefs, and sexual preferences are what I consider to be private matters. Public discussions of either should have exactly zero to do with my banking institution and my banking institution should care exactly zero about my political stance or sexual preferences.
Here are a few pictures of what is representing the new Revity Credit Union.

The complete lack of professionalism doesn't exactly light a fire in me to run into this establishment to discuss my investments and future financial portfolio.
