IF a parent knew of this situation from their students telling them about it, shame on them for not pursuing it years ago. One poster said it was going on for several years.
We owe it to our kids to protect them and yes sometimes it involves those we think should be trusted. This situation is not the first (sadly probably not the last) that has gone on in this district. I respect justice and due process no matter who is accused. When a person is tried on public media, he/she stands the chance of being ruined for life even if proved innocent later.
Justice in our country involves the accuser, the accused and the judicial system that, while not perfect, is the best one we have. If this teacher is found guilty by a jury trial or by his own plea, justice would be for him to lose his pension and be jailed under the law.
If he is found guilty and I was a parent, I would also pursue a civil case and try to take everything from him.
Worker, it's not a matter of defending people from any one group. I have a lifelong love of our judicial system and due process. If you were on trial and being raked over the coals prior to a fair trial, I would even defend you. It's what we're supposed to be about.
they did not fail, because they did what their country asked of them....
