Cold Mornings

When starting your GT6s on cold mornings, I found the engine starts right away if I manually pump the fuel pump. If I do not do that, it take a few tries for the engine to start. Is getting an electronic fuel pump a solution? just hook it up to the positive of the coil and turn ignition on, wait a few seconds, then crank the engine. Has anyone tried that? Any advice?
