The Blackstone River Watershed Council/Friends of the Blackstone is leading a paddle for the "I (heart) Woonsocket" group that is connected to the Economic Development Division of the city of Woonsocket. They are planning to lead a group of 10-16 canoes, putting in at Cold Spring Park in Woonsocket and paddling that section of the river from 6-8 PM. The intent, as I understand it, is to acquaint people with the river as a resource.
This section of the Blackstone runs along (and under) the newest section of the Blackstone River Bikeway at the RI/MA border.
Keith Hainley of the BRWC/FOTB is looking for some experienced kayak and canoe paddlers to come on the paddle and help "shepherd" the group.
