OK, thanks for clarifying. Based on the meeting location, I thought we might be portaging over the dam and continuing downstream to Riverside Cemetery.

So the plan is to meet at Riverside, shuttle up to the put-in on River St in Winchendon, paddle down to the Dam, take out on river right, and then portage-cart down the dirt road and through any closed gates until we get to the cars?

I couldn't find any info on the Corps site about the status of any of the gates at Birch Hill WMA.

I've never paddled this stretch, but I've biked in the WMA and bounced along the access roads when they were open in the summer.
