Only thing you lose is what was in your download folder.
The Chromebook is a lot like Webtv. It is tied to its email address.

That means all of those bookmarks are stored at Google. They are not stored in your computer.

When you sign into a new Chromebook with that email address, not only your bookmarks but your wallpaper is there.
