I will be the first to tell everyone that I don’t always eat right, However I will say that every year…. I try harder and harder to change my ways. But it has been to no avail. I tell myself that since I don’t do drugs, never have, I don’t really drink, may have a glass of wine every other month. And if I go to my favorite Restaurant(s), I will have one, just one Lemon drop martini. That’s the stint of my life. Boring I know. Lol. Now I will say that while living in LA for several years to help my sister who had a stoke, I was tore up. High this, High that, pre this Pre That. This is enlarged, that needs this, etc. imagine my fear. Although I was told by this brother I met along the way in L A, that whenever you take care of someone who is sick, you end up getting sick as well. He was not kidding. It’s true. He was a Corman in the Navy Stationed in San Diego, and told me to make sure I take care of me. Because one will lose sight of what they need to do for them if not careful.
When I moved my sister and I back to San Diego and saw my doctor she laid it all out for me. She stared first, then She advise me what I was up against and then she gave me a large paper bag filled with a meter, a nebulizer, medications, you name it. Plus she told me I needed to change my ways. She only had to tell me once. Long story short, taking her advice, I worked on getting better and better. I made it a point to do so. However I have to say things do catch of up you after a while. whether we like it or not.
In my last visit with my doctor, and I was advise to have a Genetic test, Mammogram, Colonoscopy, etc) taken. I didn’t argue with her, I just did it. Now the Genetic Test I had to think about it and respectfully decline. I will not give anyone, any person, or any Agency (i.e, Insurance, Facebook, Google, Government) to obtain my DNA Infor so they can use it against me. Wasn’t gonna happen. The last test I had done was a colonoscopy and let me just sum it up without going into details. It took me 5 months to get an appointment. Got the appointment, had the procedure done and was told that I had two polyps. One they removed, small in size and the other was a pretty fair size and had taken a biopsy. Without going into details I’m now scheduled to have surgery. I was advise by my doctor to tell all of my children over 40 to schedule a colonoscopy appointment. In which I did. I contemplating telling My son While he was in Paris France Vacationing for several weeks so I waited till he got back to New York. He said he will do so. I told my Daughter to do the same.
Soooooo, now what I’m doing is taking myself off the grid. I’ve turned my personal phone off. Im exercising more (riding my bike), to hot to walk. Trying to stay away from red meat. Not all the way, but not as much. I’ve taking Recipes off instagram, and been hooking it up!!!! Mostly cooking more chicken salads, etc Trynna do it right. You know?
In closing, I will come back on the board at a later time, and give you all the update, and until then you all stay safe and well. And please do what you gotta do for you!!!!!!! Don’t wait!!! Please!!!
