Twice. First time it was a civil case - somebody was suing another person. After a week of testimony we had to come in the next morning to vote. When we showed up, they announced that the case was settled out of court. The second case was a criminal case. Three people broke into a house. The broke the door down and they were ransacking the place when the owner showed up and called the police. They were caught red handed. The defense attorney claimed that the door was open and they had just entered to hang out. Pictures showed the door was torn off its hinges and several rooms were trashed. It was a unanimous guilty verdict and we were let go. It was up to the judge to determine their penalty at a later date. Both times it was mostly boring. Most of our time was spent sitting in a room waiting for further testimony or evidence to show up. Bring a book or something to do to occupy your time if you ever have to serve.
