From 10 to 18, I lived in Moab, Utah. The summer digits were often over 100 degrees; winters often got down to zero. The rocks were my playground--the power dam and the Colorado River were my salvation...I swam a LOT. My Dad built a home for us on a big cement slab that had been a skating rink. It was halfway up one of those red rock cliffs, over looking the town of Moab.
