Years ago, I had an Internet friend. He was diagnosed with cancer and the prognosis wasn't good. He confided this to me and I was devastated. I was pouring out my emotions to him and telling him of my concern for him and the rough road ahead. He told me not to worry about him. He wrote "Flo, I was a Navy man. A submariner. We could be on that submarine for 6 months at a stretch. If you can get used to that, you can get used to anything." I have remembered his wise words for years.
