Wow! This is very confusing. I had read a rumor on wikipedia that the current crown prince was opposed by Yi Seok - no surprise - but by Yi Heawon as well, and the Yi Seok fan club was jumping on her opposition to make the point that even the clan matriarch opposed the whole adoption thing. So that's why I assumed Yi Seok and the matriarch were in cahoots on this. Your discovery reveals more layers of confusion. What could be going on?

Christopher, anything like this happen in the past?
