Misdemeanor in Petty Theft

Hey guys,

I have a quick question, it might be stupid but if someone could help me answer this question I would greatly appreciated! In 2009 I got in trouble for petty theft, but it wasn't my fault it was a group of people. I got the charge expunged and everything. I was wondering if I should still applied for the AA program. Will this affect my chances? please help.

Where you a juvenile? Just charged, or plead guilty?
I wouldn't think a misdemeanor theft charge would keep you out, especially if it was expunged and you can establish that it wasn't a pattern. These programs do require a background check, so I would be sure to disclose it If your grades and e.c's are good, I would go for it.

If the charge was expunged, then I would imagine it won't show up on a background check? I would double check with a lawyer or someone more knowledgeable on the subject. Either way, I don't think it will affect your chances.
