I'm currently an AA student at Case DC and wanted to post here to see if anyone had any questions about DC/AA profession in general. I know when I was applying to AA/MD schools I had a ton of questions about the AA profession and had very little information to go off of. The message board here was a life saver for leaning me towards the AA route and I want to pay it forward to anyone that is thinking about the AA profession/Case DC. I applied to all of the programs and got interviews at all of them, but ended up choosing Case DC for several reasons and I don't regret it one bit despite being a new program!
Washington Hospital Center is an amazing clinical site to start off at and the patient population here is extremely sick. This means your preceptors (AA's and MDs') are some of the best anesthesia providers around and you will learn from the best! While I might be a bit biased about DC since I go here, the preceptors I work with say this is far and away a better clinical experience than what they had experienced as students.
In short, feel free to message me anytime on here or privately if you have any questions. Part of my goal is to expand the information and knowledge about the profession. The more people we have going the AA route, the better the applicants, which will subsequently lead to larger numbers and more states!

Hi there,
Do you still remember if you got acceptance call the next day or within a week after your CASE/DC interview? Was the call from CASE/DC or from the main campus addmission office?
For future AA student reference, I answered this qestion myself. Got acceptance email a litter after a week after interview. Then got a letter in mail. Good luck.

I know this is old, but if you're still around...I'll be rotating in DC in december, any recommendation for short term housing or good areas/areas to avoid around Providence hospital?

Hey there,
Good timing! I'm actually atarting my second year rotation at Providence in October. I'm also a good person to ask about Providence since I am one of two students in my class who started their first two months of clinical there instead of WHC. I will be out of town in December for a rotation as well as one of my roommates, so renting for a month in our house might be a good option for you. Can you send me your email In a private message and I can try to get back to you.

Which apartments are the most popular for current students?
Popular apartments are "The Flats" in NOMA/Galludet, but they can get expensive and aren't the best for commuting to the hospital in my opinion. A few of the 2nd year students live in "The Cloisters" which is near the hospital, but it's not the most convenient of locations for restaurants, grocery, etc.
I would maybe entertain the idea of a row house with other members of your class or English basements if you want to save money on rent.
Meh, only useful for finding a place to live with your classmates. Otherwise, might not be worth it depending on where you are coming from. If you have the money and time it wouldn't be a bad idea.
