Hey everyone, First off, I want to apologize if this post goes long, sounds redundant, or sounds foolish, but: I have always been interested in the medical field, and have recently decided that the AA-C path was right for me. Here’s the basics of my background: I have an undergraduate degree in Biology with a 3.2 science gpa, a 3.4 non science, and a 3.3 overall gpa. I also have an 1100 GRE (670Q, 430V, 3.0A). In addition to this, I have about 1000 hours shadowing/volunteer experience in a local hospital. Finally, I’ve been a tutor, and a member of various clubs, as well. I have 4 people I can request LOR’s from: a neurosurgeon I shadowed, the volunteer coordinator at the hospital I worked at, and two science professors. My questions to you all: Would it be too late in the cycle (ie. Put me at a disadvantage) to apply to NOVA this year? How many applications does NOVA receive each year, and how many seats are available? Based on my above background, would you consider me a strong candidate for AA school? I am also thinking of waiting to apply to South and Emory until next cycle, due to their requirements for second time applicants. Just let me know what you all think, honestly.
