actually an AA in Canada is a more advanced scope than an anesthesia tech here in the USA. tell me of one place that requires anesthesia techs to be RNs or RRTs. some hospitals may use "advanced anesthesia techs" who are RRTs, but again these guys aren't trained OJT like most anesthesia techs and the salary is commensurate with the knowledge. the AAs in Canada require ICU, ER, or NICU experience, in order to enroll in the program.
