Hi Craig awesome I'm from Boston too. but I live in Texas now I come home to Boston every two years spring and fall. My clinical and technical experience I have obtain was also on the job training, there are talks of two colleges here in the Houston area plan to open a 1 year Program as a Anesthesia Technician(A.T.) and a 2 years program Associate Degree in Science as a Anesthesia Technologist(Cer. A.T.T.)something thats long over due. We actually had a school(college)for becoming a Anesthesia Technician at a Junior College here in Houston. The reason why they shut down the program was for two reasons #1.A lot of the managers or should I say Hospital staff in Allied Health and Nursing didn't want to get on board and support a clinical rotation for Anesthesia Technicians/Technologist. And #2.A lot of people did not know about Anesthesia Technician and how they play a important role in the ACT model. How dumb does that sound?..you must have clinical rotation when dealing with patient care in a O.R., ICU, ER, Angio, Cath lab(Off site areas)setting whether your a MD, AA-C, CRNA, PA-C, CCP, RN, RRT, RCP, PM, EMT, ST, CVT, MT, and AT/ATT.
