Simply It's called FEAR! CRNAs See's AA-Cs as a threat in the ACT model O.R. as well as Out patient care, Day surgery, PACU, ER, ICU, V.A. Hospitals, Clinics, Out side services Cath Lab, GI, MRI, IR(Angio), Radiology(Cat scan) Gamma Knife, & Hyper Barrics etc.

Any thing that a CRNA can do with in the ACT model so can a AA-C do as well in the ACT model too. Under the supervision of a MDA in the ACT model both Anesthetist CRNA/AA-C.

I believe the time is coming as the public and legislation are seeing what CRNAs are really about...Meaning there dirty tactics, lies, and politics they use to build fences to keep the AA-C profession from gaining ground to practice in other states. In reality It's not about them(CRNAs)It's about the patients getting the right resources and providers to care for these patients where care is needed badly.

I would say to other AA-Cs out there If you really want to prove to CRNAs how competent your are I suggest that you do what Shane did in Florida when he went and apply to an ALL CRNA PRACTICE GROUP. HE WAS THE FIRST TO BE HIRE AND THE ONLY AA-C TO WORK WITH ALL CRNAs AND NOW HE IS TEACHING CRNA STUDENTS FACT!.

Another FACT: From a MDA about AA-Cs...I have seen the quality of anesthesia that he(AA-C) porvides, and it's equal to any CRNA". says Dr. Kradel(MDA). "The surgeons don't differentiate."

This is why AA-Cs are a huge asset and play a critical role in shortage of Anesthesia provider care where there are no CRNAs to fill those gaps that's need. The AANA See's a major problem with the shortage of Anesthesia provider but yet and still they don't nor will they acknowledge the AA-Cs or welcome them as competent Anesthetist. WHY ?

Why is it that Medicare recognize CRNAs and AA-Cs both as Mid-Level Providers Practitioner(Anesthetist)but once again the AANA don't and still will not recognize nor accept AA-Cs as competent safe Anesthesia providers as Medicare does recognize AA-Cs. Politics and to the reality that CRNAs are not the only Mid-Level Provider as they thought they were that's where the THREAT comes in at direct competition".

In closing as I stated in my past post if BSN(nurses)CAN and DO attend AA school then what does that tell you ?...It means that AA-Cs are highly educated skilled competent Anesthetist with the difference of how AA school teach there Anesthetist vs the way CRNA school teach their Anesthetist both doing the same exact job that's all period. Get use to it AA-Cs are not going any where no time soon It's time to work together and respect one another.
