Hi I'm looking to talk to any prospective Certified Anesthesia Technician(Cer.A.T.)or Cer.Anesthesia Technologist(Cer.A.T.T.)who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Science or Health Science that are now a AA-C. or applying to AA school.

My question to you is by being an Cer.A.T. or Cer.A.T.T. do you feel it had a big impact on you gaining knowledge of clinical and critical thinking skills with out going to nursing school just to have those skills. As CRNAs want you to have with 1-5 years of Anesthesia experience as a Cer.AT or Cer.ATT before applying to AA school.

For example Cer.AT or Cer.ATT being BCLS,ACLS,&PALS certified, Operating Intra Balloon Pump, Operating Cell Saver Machines, Operating Level One Auto Rapid Transfusion Machine, Operating FMS Auto Rapid Transfusion Machine, Knowledge and Trouble Shooting the Anesthesia Machine, Operating IMED Pump, Understanding&starting drips(pressers), Starting IVs, Difficult Airway Intubation in all areas, Starting and running a Code under ACLS&PALS Protocol ?

I my self am a Cer.A.T. and have numerous of clinical skills next is to become an Cer.A.T.T I'm currently working on my Bachelor's degree in Health Science from there I plan to attend AA school.

I thought about Nursing school but I feel I have no need to be a nurse when I'm getting all the knowledge of clinical care and critical thinking skills all right in the O.R. Pt's coming from ALL ICUs specialty. Including E.R.Dept.

In closing a lot of people are unaware of ANESTEHSIA TECHNICIANS&TECHNOLOGISTS on what they know and how competent there are, Cer.AT&Cer.ATT hold either a B.S. or A.S. Degree, and/or Certification from a Accredited A.T.&A.T.T. Program. It's a excellent stepping stone into becoming an Anesthetist with a B.S.Degree(AA-C).
