Correct..."RN" is a license issue. Not all "RN"s have a degree. Some have a two year associates degree, some have a diploma, some have a bachelors degree. While all applicants to NURSE anesthesia school must be "RN"s they do not have to have a bachelors degree in nursing. For example, an "RN" from a two year associate program with a year or two of ICU experience can apply to a nurse anesthesia program. Since the programs are masters level, they will require the RN to have some sort of bachelors degree but it does NOT have to be in nursing. Do not confuse terminology. "RN" does not = bachelors degree. "CRNA" does not = masters degree. There are a ton of CRNAs out there with diplomas in nursing and anesthesia who have never seen the inside of a college in their entire career and have ZIPPO college credits.
