What do you mean by an inpatient clinic? How about working in a hospital versus a free standing surgey center. I work for a group which covers both kinds of facilities. My work day is supposed to start at 7 AM but, I usually get there earlier. I get my OR ready(machine check out/drugs/airway,etc) then I go see my first patient and review their chart/interview/physical exam then start my frist case. The rest of the day depends on what particular types of cases I have that day. If I am not on call I usually am relieved around 3-3:30 PM. If I'm on call then I can be there a while. I know this pretty general but, there is really no "typical day". It all depends on what type of cases I have for that day. If you really are interested you should spend a few days shadowing an AA/Anesthesiologist or CRNA(just don't tell them you want to become an AA
