Never is a very, very long time. If the AANA wins all of its battles and destroys the ASA then why wouldn't the AAAA secure practice rights for its members?
You can't have it both ways. If CRNA's become the "ultimate" provider for Anesthesia you can bet your bedpan that the ASA will support AA's in their stuggle for "Equal Rights" with CRNA's. Again, the same level of education deserves the same practice rights, period!
If and when Society determines Nurses should be in charge of their Anesthetic at our major medical centers then AA's will be fighting hard for their piece of the action. After all, AA's can do it better most of the time and without the attitude!
