this is my first time applying to any programs. So far I have submitted my application at Emory, South, and University of Wisconsin. My question is how much does healthcare experience matter. I know it is not a requirement, but I would like to believe that it counts for something. I am currently a respiratory therapy and have been for five years. All my experience is critical care. I am a member of a pediatric critical care transport team. I get abg's, place artline, insert ivs, even draw up meds on transport. I intubated, set up my own vent settings. Im highly competent in all artificial airways(ETT, LMA, trachs, ext) My relative experience can go on for ever if I wanted.
