When we substantially improve our application in every possible area, it leaves us collectively scratching our heads and wondering what else there is we can do other than apply to other AA programs.
Additionally, for those of us who have improved our applications in the ways I just mentioned (I.e., an all-of-the-above level of improvement), it also leaves us wondering how else we could possibly improve our applications.
The question is, has Emory simply decided after reading our personal statements that we just aren't the kind of applicant they want attending their program? Or could it be that while we went to a run-of-the-mill state school (e.g., Georgia State or, as you mentioned, Valdosta State), they simply prefer to accept graduates of higher-ranked programs like Georgia Tech, Duke, etc.?
I think that what it boils down to is that many of us would just like for Emory to be direct with us and tell us honestly if we're never going to get an interview with their program regardless of the number and quality of improvements we make to our applications, especially after many of us went to great lengths to improve our applications just for them. That's all.
