I am a professional anesthesia technician (A.T.) of the anesthesia patient care team model (APCT) and member of ASATT (The American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians) who is also an advocate of the AA profession.
I am reaching out seeking your support in being guest panel speakers along with CRNAs, MDAs, CER.A.T.s and all other conference participants etc. as it should be. I'm also trying to bridge the gap (politics) between CRNA vs. AA-C with in the ACT.
I am seeking 2-3 AA-Cs from all different backgrounds, AA-Cs, RN,AA-Cs, PA-C, AA-Cs, APA-Cs and PAAs (anesthetist) to speak in Chicago, IL at the 22nd ASATT Educational Conference from October 13-15, 2011.
***(I, A.T. am trying to incorporate a diverse panel of anesthesia care providers who will be speaking at this year's annual conference. For this reason, it is in the best interest of ASATT and all conference participants to welcome both CRNAs and AA-Cs into the panel of speakers, doing so will present unbiased perspectives of current anesthesia practice from a diverse body of anesthesia care providers functioning in the ACT Model).
I see this as educational to all members of the APCT (AT/CER.AT & CER.ATT) and members of the ACT (MDAs/DOAs & CRNAs etc.) who have never heard, met or work with AA-Cs with in the ACT.
ASA (The American Society of Anesthesiologists, MD) has worked with ASATT in sponsorship in becoming accredited with Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). ASA is also the sponsoring organization for the American Academy of Anesthesiologists (AAAA) Anesthetist, AA, so they feel it is logical to offer their assistance. This was stated in the SENSOR magazine of ASATT 2010.
I have done my part as an A.T. since 2009 in the history of ASATT by advocating and inviting AA-Cs to speak at the 20th Annual ASATT Educational Conference October 15-18, 2009 - New Orleans, Louisiana

In closing, there was 1 AA-C as guest speaker at this years ASATT Educational Conference, she (AA-C) was to speak on Saturday October 15, 2011 but to my disappointed she has been removed from the list as guest speaker and has been replaced by a CRNA instead to speak in the same time spot.
There are a total of 6 spots still available for AA-Cs to choose from, there is still time people to make a difference.
