I guess, as a young woman in her early 20's, and planning on being married soon, I don't feel like I need a limitless income to be happy, when my future husband's income is about 80k-90k. I also do not feel guilty for making a lot of money, but I would feel guilty if I was the one responsible for people's health and was just doing it for the money and least amount of hours possible.
Look, I completely understand people who want a job that gets them a lot of money with little work. I have no hard feelings towards you at all, but as others have said, I don't think you will find that anywhere in health care. I think you really have to like what you do in healthcare, as money can't carry you through. Do you really want to spend your life doing something "tolerable", or something you really have an interest in? There are much easier ways to make money. My aunt is a biological patent lawyer (bio degree plus JD) and she has no income ceiling. She makes a minimum of 450K each year. JD is only 3 more years of school after bachelors.
I went to law school for a year after college looking to do the same and join her firm after I was done. I left law school ASAP because to me, I could not stand the endless amounts of paper work and the endless hours of sitting in an office typing. However, even to get to her level of income she needed to work 70-80 hrs per week when she was younger, and sometimes even more. So, yeah, I followed my heart and could not be happier. I will make a great income compared to most people in the country right now, I will have great job security, and I won't be stuck in an office or doing mundane paper work for the rest of my life. I sincerely hope you can find the same
Good luck with your decisions.
