I've never really not been out about being a lesbian; I have been widely out about it since I started feeling that way when I was about 16/17 and I'm involved in a lot of local LGBT+ activity. Eg. I'm on the staff pride committee at my workplace, I'm involved in my city's LGBT+ project/pride stuff, and I also go to a gay book group, and a once-monthly chat/friend/support group for women (includes trans women and femme nonbinary people). The latter is mostly old (eg. 65+ lesbians). So I've kinda always known a lot of lesbians and LGBT+ people (but not really [m]any that I might date etc).
BUT yes I am pretty new to dating. I've never been in a relationship and the dates I've had have been few and one-offs and often awkward set-ups by friends. I've had some of those typical lesbian dates where you're on the date wondering if it's a date. . .
"Now that I'm old and jaded" - hehe you're the one who just said it
