Good luck! If you are defending a thesis, I think the best way to approach it is as though you are having a conversation, albeit a formal one, with other intelligent people about subject matter that interests you greatly and about which you are extremely knowledgeable. It sounds like a strange suggestion but try to enjoy yourself! Of course the professors questioning you need to be treated with respect, but my impression is that most professors enjoy hearing from an articulate, thoughtful student who is passionate about the ideas expressed in her thesis, and they even also may enjoy hearing you push back and dispute the assumptions that may underlie some of their questions to you.
