Re: Lt. John Robert Jaschik #402

Great Bob story: I got transferred to the Evidence Collection Unit for the Crimes Against Persons Unit. We were situated up in the attic of the Winterode Building. Bob was my trainer. While still training, Bob tells me he has a vacation scheduled, I think a ski trip. I am riding with him in his AMC Concord and we go to his house to drop him off and I take his car to my home. The next morning I get called for a double homicide (Swartz). The whole time driving there I am worried about this being a big scene, lots of press, I am not fully trained. But, Tank, Barr and the others helped me until they could get Brian Noon to come in and he ended up lifting the print that helped nail Larry along with evidence Barr found. As much as I silently cursed Bob for taking off that day, I ended up bonding with him for many years and I hope he is resting in peace. He will be missed.
