Hats.....I was on that "shift" and honestly I wore my hat when I got out of the car. To me it projected professionalism and a certain amount of respect from the public.

But common sense ruled in cases when a hat would be "in the way". Remember those nice straw hats after getting them wet? Grover Stinchcomb turned me away more than once for not wearing a plastic cover. So I said to him...."Do you have any you can issue me?" I got the grumpy look and he threw one at me from the desk.

We could write a couple chapters easy just on "hat stories".
