Harley Burgers

Those of us who worked Brooklyn in the 70’s will remember a culinary delight called a Harley Burger . It ranked even higher than the dreaded Little Tavern Death burger . It was served on a submarine bread which contained an unidentified substance similar to a Salisbury steak but thinner . There was an exotic sauce rich in fried onion and God knows what all . Walt loved them as I recall . No known antacid could put out the gastric fire that one of these ignited . It was lucky that we were all young healthy men . Eating one now would probably be fatal .
