LUTZOW was a good model, but then so were all 15 of the models in the Comet boxed set, as they conformed exactly to the ONI drawings provided by the Navy. I find it interesting that the set included the GNEISENAU and GRAF ZEPPELIN, as ONI knew long before the sets were issued in 1943, that the former was out of service (since February 1942) and not likely to be recommissioned, and work had long since ended on the latter.
The 1:500 German set contained only eight models, of ships regularly seen in Norwegian waters during 1941-42. It did not include LUTZOW but did have SCHEER.

Started collecting Comet/Authenticast items in about 1952. Best 1/1200 ship model in my opinion was the German pocket battleship Lutzow. Send me your e-mail address and I'll forward px that I have on file of the model (with comparisons to prewar Wiking examples). jjclarke9@comcast.net
