I would like to paint up my Mercator casting to represent her at this time. Marco Ghiglino’s excellent book on Italian camouflage in WW2 has a photo of her port side painted with hills, trees and houses in an attempt to blend in with the shore. A similar photo can be found on the web.
Also, on the web, is a photo of her with a dark on light grey broad wavy band on her port side.
Can anyone else help me to determine if the scheme were applied simply to the port side because of the way she was moored?
Any help on this and possible colours used will be gratefully received.
