Folks,

I have a model attached to the cardboard box with the usual double sided tape. Problem is it has been this way since I received it years ago, and I can't carefully separate the ship from the tape.

I don't want to apply more pressure in twisting/pulling out of fear my fingers may slip. I don't want to insert anything between the ship bottom and cardboard because I don't want to damage the box, it might slip, too, and I don't want to risk damaging the bottom edge of the ship.

Any suggestions/magic solutions to detaching the ship while preserving the box?
