Can't imagine why you haven't been provided this information from your Onc! There are several types of meds. Theoretically, they help prevent a recurrence of estrogen positive BC. First, find out exactly what your numbers are, and if you would be a good candidate. There are many side effects to some of them. I have been on Tamoxifen for 6 years. I was on Arimidex (Anastrozole) first, but it made my hair so incredibly thin. It's never come back right after that. Usually, post menopausal women get the Arimidex, and pre menopausal get Tamoxifen (if I remember right!). First, I was told I'd have to take it 5 years, then 10 years. My estrogen "number" was 100, so I didn't feel like I had a choice. There are gals who can't take any of them - bone pain, blood clots, etc. Just be sure that there are statistics that will actually benefit your particular situation.
Hope that helps.
