Thanks, Zoe, for that response. Ruby's computer isn't working for her to post (though she can read the posts). She was told by her med onc that though she was triple- on her last recurrence (and possibly the previous two), she IS HER+ on this recurrence, and she is doing Herceptin this time for the first time. Her med onc believes that this (4th) cancer is a recurrence of the previous ones, but her rads onc believes that it may be a new cancer. Her surgeon told her that there is no way to know for sure. She does have all of her path reports. In the end, I suppose it may not matter whether it's a recurrence or a new cancer unless that alters her chances for further recurrence, new cancers, or survival rate. From what you said, it sounds like it's possible for the cells to mutate and come back + when they were previously -. Did I get that right? Again, thanks and hope you're doing well with your tx.
