It's just that Roe v Wade is a horrific mess based on out of date science. Previous Message if we accept the premise that an 8-month old fetus is not a person, that this is just some growth inside a body, then of course it's fully within that person's right to remove that growth without requiring governmental approval. if we accept the premise that an 8-month old fetus is a person, then of course anyone's right to remove that person from their body is secondary to the fetus-person's right to live. every non-monster agrees with these things. the problem is gaining universal agreement on the premise, especially along the continuum from conception to birth. that's because if there is a right answer, we have no means by which to discover it. right now this is a question of faith and philosophy. despite that, about 40 years ago 7 lawyers presumed to speak for everyone on such matters, and people are rightfully upset about it.
