I think I'm actually being pretty analytical in my thinking that
a) The long term absentees at CB are just Andersen (who was fit in January) and Lockyer, so signing someone on a permanent has to be someone for the right price, who fits in, and who is good enough. Which obviously the club couldn't find.
b) By signing a free agent or player on a short term contract, you're likely going to end up with a player who isn't up to speed at this level and is hardly going to be good enough if hasn't got a club atm or is desperate enough to sign for someone for just 3 months to get away from wherever they are.
c) Alfie did well at LCB on Tuesday when he covered, so it made sense pushing him in there yesterday. RE realised it wasn't working and switched it. And I expect Hashi to fill in there if Bell's not fit for next weekend.
I don't think anyone who is saying the overreaction to not signing however many players in January is lacking in analytical thinking, tbh.
