Unfortunately not unbelievable at all. As someone who has had suicidal thoughts on several occasions and with plenty of people who I could reach out to from different areas of life (family, friends, work etc.) the shame, guilt, embarrassment, professional failure, family incompetence, and all the rest of it are absolutely huge burdens to carry. The pressure is so much especially when you really don't want to end it all but can't see a way through the blackness and desperation and hopelessness that I have sometimes felt. And then there's the guilt if you actually do go through with it of how family and friends will react and how awful they would feel if they felt they'd contributed to making me feel so depressed. It's a horrible place to be. I don't know what the answer is.
